It’s official! It appears as though Virgin are really challenging for the top position in all the credit card categories; these guys have got their fingers in so many pies they’ll soon need to wash their hands! Check out Virgin for all your purchases…
They offer a pretty stunning 0% interest on all your purchases for the first twelve months of you owning it. This is good if you have a good reputation of paying off your bills because you can set money aside to pay off your balance before the end of the 12 month period. The interest is certainly not going to be great if you don’t pay off your balance because it’s set at the higher end of the average credit card scale at 18.9% interest. So there’s a reason to be careful with your credit card.
However, there is good news if you’re a wine lover, because Virgin credit card offer their entire reward system based on wine. A little naughty in my opinion because Virgin are in a position of trust and shouldn’t really influence their younger credit card customers with reward point systems like this. For all of us old farts who drink wine constantly in order to forget credit cards its a nice idea, but for everyone else, i think it’s likely to corrput them.
So if you want 0% on your purchases for the first 12 months then that’s about as good as virgin gets. So i ask you, is this really the best purchase card? Beware of those credit card comparison sites that position it at the top of their list, they’re probably being paid an absolute fortune to put it there!
