The Importance of a Good Credit Score

Today we couldn’t live in a more important time to have a good credit score.  If you need anything you simply must have good credit.  The banks have been forced to lend more sensibly (although we’ll see how this lasts), and credit card companies are much more wary about who they give their money to also…

So this is why you must concentrate on building your credit score gradually and in the right way.  Sometimes it isn’t just enough to say that you’ve never been in debt, you have a good job, and you pay your bills on time.  A credit card company in particular needs to see that you have had credit before and more importantly spent a long time paying it off.  You see they make their money from the interest you pay on your balance, and if you pay off your balance every month, which in itself has many benefits, they will be less likely to want you to borrow money from them.

This is because you are likely to claim all the rewards that the credit card has to offer, without actually paying anything to the provider; unless of course you choose a credit card with an annual fee.

So it isn’t all about how shiny and perfect your cerdit score is, these days the credit card companies need to see that they will get their money back, but more importantly they need to see that you are going to pay them some interest at the same time!
