Types of Credit Cards

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

So there is a new year approaching and you’re thinking already about next year and what it’ll bring in the way of good fortune or bad.  You may also be thinking about having a better Christmas next year by applying for a decent credit card now.  It’s not a bad move, since all the credit cards out there rely on you building your rating before they increase your spending limit… (more…)

January Sales with Credit

Monday, December 28th, 2009

You don’t think you can enjoy the January sales?  Well why not?  Go out and use your damn credit card.  You can usually pay for it all later anyway, never mind worrying about the monthly repayments.  I’m still paying off last year’s January sales…. (more…)

Christmas Credit Card Fraud

Friday, December 25th, 2009

I’ve already told you in a previous post on this subject that credit card fraud is very common at this time of year, and that credit card theives and fraudsters will stop at nothing to get their filthy hands on your money or goods.  There are a few things you can do however, but surprisingly many of you still don’t… (more…)

Credit Card Fraud

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Watch out in this season of good will, because not everyone is in the same festive “good will to all men” kind of vibe.  Thousands of people are victims of credit card theft and fraud at this time of year, so i’ve come up with a few pointers to protect you… (more…)

Pre Paid Credit

Friday, December 18th, 2009

If you are rubbish with money and you cannot possibly control your spending habit, you should probably consider a prepaid credit card.  It is, contrary to popular belief, still a credit card.  Just because it doesn’t work in the same way as a conventional credit card doesn’t make it any different in the way that you spend credit; only this way the credit is already on the card because you put it there… (more…)

Credit to Survive

Friday, December 11th, 2009

Here’s a common enough story, and one i also hope none of you reading this will encounter.  I remember a chap i went to university with who had a few credit problems.  He used to have quite a tedious job in a factory or something like that but decided to better himself by going to university… (more…)

Why Bad Credit?

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

There are many reasons for having a bad credit rating, and not all of them are your fault.  Sounds odd doesn’t it, but it’s true.  I had a bad credit rating many, many years ago just because i signed on the dotted line for someone else who had bad credit.  Suffice to say they didn’t keep up the payments on their sofa, or whatever it was, and i was landed the bill; and surprise surprise, i couldn’t pay it… (more…)

Refused Credit?

Friday, December 4th, 2009

Well join the club, because in today’s financial climate there aren’t many that haven’t been refused a credit card.  There isn’t much good news surrounding this issue other than there are ways to rebuild your credit rating; for those who don’t know about credit rating, it’s what all credit companies use to “score” how good you have been with credit over the space of you life so far… (more…)

Credit companies get choosy

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

If you haven’t got a good credit score these days then you’re unlikely to get a credit card; well you’re unlikely to get a good credit card anyway!  There are so many out there prepared to rip you off, yet they want to know everything about you, and charge you a small fortune for the pleasure of holding one of their credit cards it seems so unfair… (more…)
